Our Mission

Skills for Sustainable Business

The challenge of the century, a context that makes companies responsible

Climate change, the decline in biodiversity, resource scarcity, and social inequalities among others… we are all aware of the challenges that we face collectively. Until now, the response of companies to the challenges of sustainable development – CSR, or Corporate Social Responsibility – has been insufficient because it has remained too peripheral in the conduct of business. As a result, our societal and economic model is under increasing pressure from these issues, pushing it to critical limits. The new model of today and tomorrow will be that of sustainability, and we believe that companies should contribute to it based on their place in society. Provided, of course, that they look inwards as well! That is, discover the very essence of their business model by revisiting their governance, their product offerings, and their way of operating.

EcoLearn’s vision: training in sustainability to begin business transitioning

A transition of this magnitude requires that all people in business have the keys of understanding, analysis and action to enter the new paradigm of “sustainability”. This is precisely the mission we have set ourselves:

To empower people with the skills to make business (more) sustainable.

Supported by the best experts, an innovative pedagogy, and our community of partners, we train the knowledge, the know-how and the skills necessary to enable the transformation of companies and businesses towards sustainability.

The meeting of 3 generations and 3 complementary experiences

It all started with the meeting of Patrick d’Humières and Pierre Montel when they were creating an online course for a top school. They shared their observations concerning the gaps in sustainable development training, such as:

  • fundamental and operational knowledge related to sustainability in companies is mainly held by practitioners, and is poorly distributed;
  • traditional learning about sustainability is primarily theoretical and not practical enough;
  • the material is not geared towards business professionals

They therefore decided to work together on a new sustainability “school” that would provide new and efficient solutions for teaching sustainable development skills, and that could be deployed on a large scale: and thus EcoLearn was born!

A few months later, Arnaud Herrmann joined them while he was Director of Sustainable Development for the Accor Group. He contributed another observation: the lack of skills and the shortage of experienced profiles would not allow companies to succeed in their transition towards sustainability.

They therefore joined forces to share their common vision, their deepest convictions, and decided to act positively in the service of the sustainable transformation of companies.

Humanity

Digital does not mean disembodied: for us, it is the opposite! Satisfying and taking care of our learners, employees and alumni is constant attention. Our goal: to make people happy!

Collaboration

When faced with obstacles, we stick together. We see others as partners in sustainability. The word ‘co’ fits us well.

Belief/Conviction

We are all driven by a common flame: to contribute to making the world a better place. And we all share the same spirit: we’ll get there, together.

Open-mindedness

Great evils require great remedies. Let’s invent another possibility! Our mantra: critical thinking, curiosity, creativity and audacity.

Humility

We know that we don’t know everything! However, this does not prevent us from always trying to improve, with training sessions that are always more relevant, clear, complete, up to date, interesting and hopefully fun.

Supported by the best experts, an innovative pedagogy and our community of partners

We empower people with the skills to make business (more) sustainable through training programs that enable the transformation of companies and businesses towards sustainability.
